Fall Soccer has begun (and in fact is almost over). We have our typical soccer Saturdays. Jack and Ben are on the same team again (U6) and Pete is playing U10. It is still a struggle to get Peter to watch the ball and play. At this age, we are wondering if he really wants to do it or not? By now most of the other kids are really trying to play and seem to want to be there. Pete says he wants to play, but then doesn't make much effort. That's fine for the younger kids, but now his teammates actually care about playing well and winning. Ah well, I keep telling myself he'll grow out of it. Either that, or he'll be shamed out of the sport (not a mother's ideal event for her first-born child). Jack and Ben are typically interested in going after the ball and enjoy the game as well as the treat. They love to practice at home and are getting better each week. Jack even scored his first goal of the season and Ben has had a couple of close calls.
